| Behind Every Rescue Is a Story Like Willow's |
| |
 |
| |
Willow is just one of 28,000 pets expected to come through our doors in 2026, a 15% increase over last year.
When she arrived, the stray cat had severely wounded ears that appeared to be burned. Though we may never know what she endured before being found alone and in pain, our veterinary team acted quickly, performing surgery to remove the damaged tissue and bring her relief. Then, in a loving Foster Hero home, Willow healed from her physical and emotional wounds. Now, her adorably unique ears are a symbol of resilience – and of the lifesaving care animal lovers like you make possible.

Summer Heat Safety Tips for Valley Pet Owners
As we gear up for another scorching summer, we're urging pet owners in our community to consider the Three Ps of Heat Safety: • PAWse – Always check the pavement before heading outside. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for paws. This is true even after sundown. • Plan – Create a plan around your pet's exercise and activity. Schedule walks during cooler hours early in the morning or late at night, provide plenty of water and implement fun indoor enrichment activities. Check out our TikTok account for ideas! • Protect – Never leave your pet in a hot car, research pet-safe sunscreen for short-haired breeds and think about booties to shield their feet from sweltering surfaces.

Honoring Those Who Serve by Caring for the Pets They Love
This Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country — and we're proud to support active-duty military members by helping care for the beloved pets who faithfully wait for them to come home.
When Flare's owner learned he would be deployed for the next year, he faced an impossible situation. With no friends or family able to care for Flare while he was away, he turned to our Project Home Away from Home program with one heartfelt hope: that Flare would be safe, loved and cared for until they could reunite.
Thanks to a compassionate Foster Hero, Flare is thriving in a loving temporary home, bringing joy everywhere he goes. And because of supporters like you, his owner can focus on his mission knowing that his best friend is surrounded by comfort and love back home.

Turning Houses into Homes, One Wet Nose at a Time
At the Arizona Humane Society, we believe a house doesn't truly become a home until there are muddy paw prints on the floor and a little pet hair on the couch. That's why we're thrilled to partner with Habitat for Humanity to help match deserving new homeowners with adoptable pets in need of loving families.
Last month, we celebrated our very first match when the Jones family welcomed Miles into their new home. Together, our two community-focused, Arizona-based organizations are creating more than just new beginnings — we're building lasting bonds rooted in stability, companionship and unconditional love for both families and pets alike.

Home Depot Helps Fill Critical Need for Pets in Crisis
A huge thank you to all the local Home Depot stores that worked together to make a generous bucket donation supporting our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians, who use these supplies every day while rescuing vulnerable pets in the field.
Their support comes at a critical time, as rising temperatures across the Valley place more pets at risk and increase the need for emergency response services. Partnerships like this help ensure our teams are equipped to provide lifesaving care and assistance to animals when they need it most.

| Pave Birkenstock’s Path to His Forever Home |
| |
|
| |
Since opening just weeks ago, our Bottle Baby ICU has already cared for more than 1,000 orphaned puppies and kittens. With so many fragile patients arriving, we depend on our Foster Heroes to expand our reach beyond the shelter and help save more little lives. Birkenstock is one tiny kitten who needs a temporary foster home where he can grow big and strong. Found as a stray at just a few days old, he was struggling to survive without his mother and now needs round-the-clock care until he is ready for adoption. If you’d love to welcome Birkenstock or another neonate into your home, contact our foster team today and help us save vulnerable kittens this season.
