| Interested in Adopting Shasta? |
Due to the unprecedented worldwide pandemic, Maricopa County is facing a housing crisis as thousands of people and their pets are in danger of eviction and being displaced from their homes. AHS has teamed up with other leading Valley animal welfare organizations to create the Pet Housing Help AZ Task Force, which is committed to helping both our four- and two-legged friends who have been impacted by COVID-19.
As part of this task force, we’ve created the Pet Housing Help AZ rehoming and fostering site, which allows individuals in need to connect directly with other Valley residents to rehome or temporarily foster their pet. You can help make this heart-wrenching situation better by adopting or fostering a beloved four-legged family member like Shasta.
Shasta, a beautiful 10-year-old, was born feral and rescued as a kitten. She has lived with small dogs but does not coexist well with large dogs or dogs who are aggressive toward cats. Although she is an indoor cat, she enjoys being outside and taking in all the smells, sounds and sights. She is housebroken with a litter box and loves a good scratch pad. Shasta is very playful, but sometimes her wild instincts take over, so be ready for a swipe or nibble. Shasta is used to a quiet and low-key household, and she can feel scared and intimidated very easily. She would do best in another quiet home where she can slowly get to know her new surroundings and person or people. |
