AHS’ Parvo Puppy ICU Is Saving Lives
Treating parvo in a shelter setting is very rare, but last year AHS’ Parvo Puppy ICU was able to treat and save nearly 300 dogs and puppies that had contracted Parvo. Go behind the scenes into our Parvo Puppy ICU to see how your support is helping to save our community’s most vulnerable animals.

Mustachioed Puppy Found Abandoned in Box Finds New Family
In February, a 9-week-old Boxer mix was found abandoned in a box. Though her story, sadly, is not an uncommon one, her facial features were everything but average. Right below her little nose, was a mustache! The puppy was appropriately named Ms. Mustachia. Ms. Mustachia was cared for in AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™ before having a clean bill of health and being placed up for adoption.

Don’t Kit-nap Kittens
When we find a litter of kittens, our good-hearted instincts tell us to rush to the aid of these fragile felines. Thankfully, human intervention is typically not required. In fact, the best thing we can do is leave the kittens alone. Mom will likely return shortly, and it’s critical that the kittens remain in her care as she offers the best chance for survival.

Interested in Adopting Rocky?
Due to the unprecedented worldwide pandemic, Maricopa County is facing a housing crisis as thousands of people and their pets are in danger of eviction and being displaced from their homes. AHS has teamed up with other leading Valley animal welfare organizations to create the Pet Housing Help AZ Task Force, which is committed to helping both our four- and two-legged friends who have been impacted by COVID-19. As part of this task force, we’ve created the Pet Housing Help AZ rehoming and fostering site, which allows individuals in need to connect directly with other Valley residents to rehome or temporarily foster their pet. You can help make this heart-wrenching situation better by adopting or fostering a beloved four-legged family member like Rocky.

Rocky is a very friendly, playful 8-year-old who plays well with other cats. He loves people and children and is ready to find his forever home.
