Three-Hour Rescue Saves Cat From Car Engine
On December 11, AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ received an urgent call regarding an injured cat who was stuck in a car engine. It took three hours and an incredible on-site surgical procedure, but Cindy Lou Who was rescued and treated at our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™. After several weeks recovering in a Foster Hero home, Cindy Lou Who recently found her happy ending when she was adopted. AHS has become a safety net for the Valley’s most vulnerable pets like Cindy Lou Who and has saved an additional 115,000 lives over the last seven years.

An Ordinary Tale of an Extraordinary Loyal Companion, Yogi
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. This is especially true for the lifelong animal lovers of the Zielinski family, who adopted Yogi from the Arizona Humane Society back in 2003. After 18 wonderful years together, Yogi passed away just before Christmas. They shared this touching tribute with AHS, titled “An Ordinary Tale,” which beautifully exemplifies the human-animal bond any animal lover can understand.

Interested in Adopting Bella?
Due to the unprecedented worldwide pandemic, Maricopa County is facing a housing crisis as thousands of people and their pets are in danger of eviction and being displaced from their homes. AHS has teamed up with other leading Valley animal welfare organizations to create the Pet Housing Help AZ Task Force, which is committed to helping both our four- and two-legged friends who have been impacted by COVID-19. As part of this task force, we’ve created the Pet Housing Help AZ rehoming site, which allows individuals in need to connect directly with other Valley residents to rehome their pet. You can help make this heart-wrenching situation better by adopting a beloved four-legged family member like Bella.

Bella is a lovable 8-month-old puppy who would love a yard to play and run in. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and ready for you to welcome her into your home.
