transformational_change.pngWhat Began as a Mission to Save Pets Ended Up Transforming an Entire Community

Three years ago, we embarked on the most comprehensive reassessment of every program and procedure with the ultimate goal of making Maricopa County one of the best places to be a pet — not one of the worst. We invented a new playbook for animal welfare, which served as the catalyst for the most rapid change the Arizona Humane Society has ever experienced. And when all was said and done, we’ve celebrated a remarkable 80 percent decrease in euthanasia and 55 percent reduction in intake...[Read More]

cwf.jpgAn Unforgettable Day in Paradise

Thanks to everyone who helped turned shimmering fantasies into stunning realities during our 18th annual Compassion with Fashion: Paws in Paradise luncheon and fashion show earlier this month. Freddy.png

Featured Pet: Freddy

It was a late night and Freddy had mistakenly wandered away from home. Startled by the unfamiliar sights and sounds, the British Shorthair mix dashed out into the road and was struck by a passing car leaving him unconscious and lying in the middle of the road. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan noticed him and soon Freddy was in the care of the highly-skilled medical staff at AHS. Now healed, this inquisitive and people-oriented 3-year-old is ready to curl up on a warm lap and spend the rest of his life as a pampered housecat.

Meet Freddy at the Sunnyslope Campus.
