DOGS RESCUED IN ALABAMA CRUELTY CASE START NEW LIVES IN PHOENIX More than 60 dogs were rescued from an Alabama property in January after local authorities determined that they were so emaciated and ill that they needed immediate attention. The Humane Society of the United States transported 23 rescued dogs from Alabama to Arizona, arriving at the Arizona Humane Society in mid-August.
