Kitten Nursery Gives Mary Kate Second Chance

Weighing less than a pound, Mary Kate was in desperate need of help when she came to AHS. Things looked grim, but thanks to the 24-hour care in our new Kitten Nursery, she now lives happily in a new forever home.

This summer, AHS will rescue, heal, adopt and advocate for thousands of pets like Mary Kate through innovative programs with one goal in mind - saving more lives - and we need your help…

Your Old Stuff Can Save Lives

Cleaning out your closets this summer? Our pets could use your old stuff. If you have new or gently used furniture, clothes, housewares, appliances or other items you don't need, donate them to our thrift stores, where proceeds from the sale of your items will benefit our pets. You can receive a tax deduction, and we’ll even pick up your items for free!

Featured Pet: Gilligan

When Gilligan was put aboard his owner’s vehicle, he probably thought he was in for a three-hour tour at most. Instead he ended up at AHS, another cat castaway in need of rescue. Today marks his 79th day of being homeless and all Gilligan wants is a skipper, someone to curl up next to while watching rerun television shows. After a long day, put him on the back of the couch, take a seat and lean back for a feline massage as he gently kneads your shoulders. Gilligan is more into napping than playing and would appreciate a kitty hammock. He doesn’t mind other cats but he doesn’t like dogs - even if they are named Mary Ann or Ginger.
