May Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Prep & Certification
Arizona Humane Society Sunnyslope Campus, Training Center

Monday, May 11 & 18 (5:00 – 6:30)
Tuesday, May 19 & 26 (5:00 – 6:30)

Started in 1989, the CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community.  The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.  All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

This class is 2 weeks long, with each class lasting for 90 minutes.  The first week is a preparation week, where you will receive instruction from a certified CGC evaluator to help you and your dog successfully prepare for the 10-step test.  The second week is the official 10-step CGC test.

To participate in the prep & certification course, dogs must reliably be able to do the following:

- Sit & Down on command
- Stay with duration
- Come when called
- Walk loosely on a leash (without the use of anti-pull equipment)

If your dog does not have the above commands in place but you are still interested in getting a CGC certification, attending our Dog Fundamentals and Dog Intermediate courses will give you and your dog the skills necessary to participate.

- This class is for dogs and puppies that have their complete set of vaccinations, including Rabies.
- This class is not suitable for dogs that have aggressive tendencies toward other dogs or people.

Classes will be held at our Sunnyslope Campus Training Room.
